Seats and challenges
Near the center, seats are taken by challenge — the grain with more mass wins.
Inner shells have a fixed number of seats. When they are full, a qualified grain can take a seat by challenge.
Mass
Mass = flowUsd × (1 + tenureDays / 30).
Challenging
- A qualified grain may challenge the lowest-mass occupant of the next shell in.
- Higher mass wins; the two grains swap shells.
- One challenge per grain every 24 hours.
The Nucleus
The Nucleus is decided weekly: the highest-mass Core grain challenges the Nucleus at settlement on the first trading day of the week.
Onchain
Challenges are permissionless and fully onchain. Results appear in the Ledger.
